Evan is a registered psychologist having completed his degree in Master of Clinical Psychology. Evan has worked in several settings including schools, private practice, hospitals, and forensic settings giving him a great breadth of knowledge and understanding of psychological issues across the lifespan.
Most recently, he has been working in the forensic setting. He has worked across several medium and maximum-security prisons including Karreenga Prison, Margoneet Prison and most recently Melbourne Assessment Prison. His role within the forensic setting has given him extensive experience working with complex clients including serious violent offenders and serious sexual offenders. Within this setting, he has facilitated numerous drug and alcohol groups, individually delivered evidence-based interventions for substance use issues, and supported many offenders as they reintegrate into the community.
In addition, he has worked in private practice with a focus on anxiety disorders including Social Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). As a psychologist, he utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema Therapy. In addition, he has undertaken further training and development in Cognitive Processing Therapy, the gold standard therapeutic intervention for PTSD.
In his spare time, Evan enjoys the gym, tending to his many (some might say too many) indoor plants and spending time with family and friends.
